CAMBerVis: visualization software to support comparative analysis of multiple bacterial strains
نویسندگان
چکیده
MOTIVATION A number of inconsistencies in genome annotations are documented among bacterial strains. Visualization of the differences may help biologists to make correct decisions in spurious cases. RESULTS We have developed a visualization tool, CAMBerVis, to support comparative analysis of multiple bacterial strains. The software manages simultaneous visualization of multiple bacterial genomes, enabling visual analysis focused on genome structure annotations. AVAILABILITY The CAMBerVis software is freely available at the project website: http://bioputer.mimuw.edu.pl/camber. Input datasets for Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Staphylocacus aureus are integrated with the software as examples. Analysis of support pressure for stabilization of rock blocks in the Zaker tunnel
This paper presents the results of engineering geological studies of rock blocks along a road tunnel in NW Iran. The tunnel is to cross the Western Alborz Mountain Range through 530 m in length with 11.2 m span and 8 m height. Eocene tuffs and andesites crop out in whole of the tunnel route. Numerical analyses are done using, a 3D stability analysis and visualization program, called Unwedge tha...
متن کاملRequirements Visualization Techniques: A Comparative Analysis
Several requirements visualization techniques have been developed together with tools that support the techniques. This paper focuses on visualization techniques developed for requirements representation. These techniques are used to transform the written and verbal requirements into visual representations. Most of the existing techniques use graphics for visual representation. This paper revie...
متن کاملStrepto-DB, a database for comparative genomics of group A (GAS) and B (GBS) streptococci, implemented with the novel database platform ‘Open Genome Resource’ (OGeR)
Streptococci are the causative agent of many human infectious diseases including bacterial pneumonia and meningitis. Here, we present Strepto-DB, a database for the comparative genome analysis of group A (GAS) and group B (GBS) streptococci. The known genomes of various GAS and GBS contain a large fraction of distributed genes that were found absent in other strains or serotypes of the same spe...
متن کاملVNTR9 and VNTR10, two newly-found variable-number tandem repeat loci useful in MLVA genotyping of Bordetella pertussis
Background & Aims: Bordetella pertussis, the causative agent of whooping cough, continues to infect human hosts even in those populations where infants and children are routinely vaccinated. Causes of pertussis epidemiology are not fully identified unless strains of the pathogen are characterized by molecular means. Golbally, Multi Locus Variable Number of Tandem Repeats analysis (MLVA) has pro...
متن کاملLeveraging Interaction History for Intelligent Configuration of Multiple Coordinated Views in Visualization Tools
Visualization tools can take advantage of multiple coordinated views to support analysis of large, multidimensional data sets. Effective design of such views and layouts can be challenging, but understanding users’ analysis strategies can inform design improvements. We outline an approach for intelligent design configuration of visualization tools with multiple coordinated views, and we discuss...
